Honor our Veterans

Happy Veterans Day!  Thank you to all those who are or have served our great Nation.

Recently, our small town of Bedford, PA, erected a terrific tribute to our World War II Veterans.  My husband and I are both proud of each of our Dad's service and were happy to see their names included as part of his historic sculpture.    As part of the $200,000 raised  to fund the monument, locals could purchase bricks to honor loved ones who served in World War II.  We were honored to contribute.  A local artist, Wayne Hyde, sculpted the statue.  The dedication was on a perfect September day with two A-10 Warthogs from the 175th Air Guard Wing doing a practice run over the crowd.

My husband's Dad, Boyd Foor, his Aunt and Uncle Ruth and Bruce Foor have bricks surrounding the new Bedford WW II Monument as recognition of their service.

And my Dad, Sam England is also honored.  We thank all our Veterans for their service.

  1. What a beautiful monument! How special to always have family names for others to read over the years. Thanks for sharing this special tribute.
